About the role
Rio Tinto is looking for a Manager Supply Chain, responsible in leading the QA/QC team by formulating and implementing the QA/QC strategy and procedures to ensure the successful completion of sourcing projects in China.
The role is based in Shanghai and its main functions are to lead a team of 8+ quality engineers that support global procurement projects from China on supply chain activities such as HSE, QA/QC, logistic, supplier audit and pre-qualification, technology and innovation, and China Sourcing process.

Working within Rio Tinto Commercial reporting to the Senior Manager China Sourcing, you will lead the team to improve commercial outcomes in highly complex projects.
This is a very important role responsible of managing the inherent risks including QA/QC and HSE on all sourcing projects in China. The incumbent will also leverage the technical capabilities of the team to influence commercial strategy and sourcing outcome.

Reporting to the Senior Manager China Sourcing, you will:
  • Leading a strong team of 8 quality engineers whose responsibility is to monitor all sourcing projects completed in China supervising all QA/QC related activities
  • Responsible for the HSE management practice procedure and HSE supervision on all sourcing projects
  • Ensuring all projects follow the China quality requirement but not limited to and the following: RFI, Pre-Q, ITP, TQ, FAI, FPA, FAT, WPS, WPQR, HSEP, LTP, PPPT, specifications, standards, drawings, reports, MDRs, root cause analysis, failure mode analysis, third party management system, etc
  • Managing the logistic and various supply chains of all projects
  • Maintaining the China Sourcing procedures UpToDate and to ensure all the China Sourcing team members follow the procedures around all aspects

About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree on engineering, science and technology
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Team spirit
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proficient skills in: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin
  • Previous experience of at least 10 years in large multinational company
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a quality management role
  • Experience of at least 5 years of managing technical experts
