What we’re looking for
We're looking for a Data Engineer with strong knowledge of Data modeling on Data/Big Data tools and the data lake organization.
What you’ll be doing
- Development, creation of the related functional and technical documentation
- Performance testing for the implemented solutions
- Understanding, assessing and mapping the data landscape
- Maintaining our Information Security standards on the engagement
- Good understanding of CI-CD concepts and practical experience in deploying data transformation jobs using CI-CD frameworks
- Be accountable for creating end-to-end solutions on industry-leading data platform offerings
- Collaborate with data scientists to map data fields to hypotheses and curate, wrangle, and prepare data for use in their advanced analytical models
- Ability to work independently, leading a workstream effectively, and on a team
- Passionate about mentoring of other team members
- Strong soft skills that you can bring to bear to drive organizational and operational transformation
- Understanding of cloud-based deployments and ability in working with public cloud frameworks (such as Google Cloud or AWS)
- Ensure that solution exhibits high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment
- Maintain technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights; collaborate and share with the technical community
- Work according to agile methodology framework, leading agile teams and training others, consulting with key stakeholders to ensure analytical solutions meet business needs.
What you need to know/have
- English - fluent
- Good experience of working with large data sets (preferably telecom data)
- Good understanding and usage of SQL-PL/SQL in the context of data warehouse solutions - minimum 5 year experience developing in SQL-PL/SQL
- Experience in tuning complex DWH/BI (based on SQL-PL/SQL) environments as far as data volumes
- Experienced in ETL process design and data flows optimization
- Advanced technical knowledge of Oracle-specific database structures (indices, partitions, data dictionary, explain plans…)
- Previous experience in usage of ETL (ODI/ INFORMATICA)
- Good knowledge of Spark in context of streaming as well as in batch processing context
- Experience with workflows in big data platforms
- Experience with Google Cloud products: Dataproc, Bigquery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage
- Databases knowledge (incl. NoSQL databases); experienced working with both structured and unstructured data
- Business Intelligence reporting: Tableau or other tools for data visualization communication; SAP Business Objects or other reporting tools
- Advanced Presentation skills
