Why we need you

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that sa.global efficiently and seamlessly invoices and gets paid by the customers for the services provided to the clients. In order to do this, the Project Managers (PMs) require a level of administrative support in D365 system to complete set-up tasks and they require help monitoring the input from consultants, sub-contractors and other data from intercompany sources. Finance also require support in this process to ensure that the PMs are fully enabling finance to complete their tasks.

The project accountant position is accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, approving timesheets, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected.

Responsibility areas

Directly supporting PMs in the full Project Life Cycle as follows:

  • Ensure that project documentation is stored on SharePoint.
  • Sending timesheets to PMs (and customers) for monthly T&M billing and reporting.
  • Ensure milestone billing projects are invoiced in accordance with project schedules.
  • Project set-up in D365.
  • Expense management.
  • Produce project invoice proposal for PMs to approve.
  • Reconcile client sales invoices to ‘actual’ hours.
  • Compile all expenses to be billed to the customer if the customer requires back-up of the expense entries.
  • Timesheet adjustments where justifiable.

Directly supporting finance as follows:

  • Manage WIP to ensure that billing is maximised each month.
  • Reconcile WIP with revenue recognition rules and project status on a monthly basis.
  • Check all project cost invoices and where required manage invoice values against PO, ensuring that invoices do not exceed PO value.
  • Reconcile expenses ensuring that costs received are billed to the customer.
  • Issuance of 3rd party and ICO Billing.
  • Review customer statements and escalate to the appropriate parties when there are overdue amounts.
  • Tax and accounting reconciliation.
  • Tax and accounting duties as assigned.

Essential Criteria

  • Proficient in Microsoft Dynamic 365 Finance & Operations, reporting tools, and excel.
  • Quick to learn.
  • Good communicator.
  • Tenacious.
  • Commercial awareness; can challenge unbilled time.
  • Experience working in a multi-national company with consultants in different time zones and locations.
  • Experience working in a service and or software field would be a bonus.
  • Organized.
  • Able to prioritize and work on multiple issues at one time.
  • Knowledge in IFRS 15 / SFRS 115 revenue recognition criteria.
  • Experience in standard best practices and able to apply them in operational practices.
  • Fundamental tax knowledge and compliance for operational purposes.

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting business, Information technology or equivalent professional qualification.
